About the Role
This role is responsible for hardware integration and final assembly activities across aircraft systems and structures. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are producible, assemblies are efficient, and hardware meets engineering and quality requirements. The position operates within a model-based engineering environment and supports development through production programs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead hardware integration and final assembly activities, including coordination and liaison support across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
Review engineering models and technical drawings to assess producibility, identify design gaps, and recommend improvements.
Identify design errors, omissions, and integration issues; initiate and support corrective actions.
Work within a model-based engineering environment (e.g., 3DEXPERIENCE).
Define assembly build sequences, operations procedures, and integration strategies using knowledge of flight hardware and manufacturing processes.
Provide input on design concepts, specifications, and requirements to optimize assembly, serviceability, and use of manufacturing equipment.
Support development, prototype, first-article, and new product introduction (NPI) programs.
Collaborate effectively within an Integrated Product Team (IPT), while also working independently to make sound technical and program decisions.
Support on-vehicle testing, troubleshooting, and resolution of aircraft sub-system issues as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
10+ years of experience in aircraft sub-systems or structures assembly and integration.
5+ years of applied aircraft experience (e.g., production support, maintenance, or testing).
4+ years of recent, hands-on experience with 3DEXPERIENCE (3DX) or CATIA V5.
Proven experience reviewing engineering models and technical drawings for manufacturability and producibility.
Experience supporting development, prototype, first-article, or NPI programs.
Strong ability to work independently, exercise technical judgment, and contribute within an IPT environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with complete, integrated air vehicle designs.
On-vehicle testing and troubleshooting of aircraft sub-systems.
Liaison engineering experience supporting manufacturing and design teams.
Hands-on shop floor or production support, including direct interaction with manufacturing personnel.
Experience authoring manufacturing assembly work instructions.
Familiarity with jet engine integration, service, or maintenance.
Experience with wire harness and interconnect installation and integration.
Knowledge of aircraft fuel systems.
Working knowledge of metallic part machining processes.
Experience using DELMIA software.
Aviation maintenance background (A&P license or equivalent experience).
