Operations & IT Manager
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Location: Anywhere in the UK, ideally within reach of London
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Fully remote, with occasional travel to the London office when required
Our client is an international organisation working across more than 23 countries, supporting colleagues, partners and programmes around the world. Following an organisational restructure, they are seeking an experienced Operations & IT Manager to take ownership of operational services, governance, compliance and organisational effectiveness across the organisation.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operations professional who enjoys working across multiple business functions, improving ways of working and supporting organisational resilience within an international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the organisation's operational support function, ensuring effective systems, processes and services are in place.
- Develop and implement operational plans, priorities, budgets and performance measures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen organisational effectiveness and service delivery.
- Manage organisational policies, procedures and governance frameworks across business support functions.
- Oversee risk management, compliance, business continuity and data protection activities.
- Support contracting, due diligence and operational compliance processes across international programmes and partnerships.
- Manage relationships with external suppliers and service providers, ensuring value for money and service quality.
- Oversee organisational knowledge management and SharePoint resources to ensure staff have access to accurate information and guidance.
- Line manage the IT Officer and oversee day-to-day technology services and systems.
- Ensure appropriate cybersecurity, business continuity and disaster recovery arrangements are maintained.
- Work closely with colleagues across multiple countries to identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and ways of working.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Significant experience in an Operations Manager, Business Support Manager, Corporate Services Manager or similar operational leadership role.
- Experience working within the charity, NGO, membership or international development sectors.
- Strong understanding of operational governance, compliance, risk management and organisational processes.
- Experience managing projects and driving operational improvements across multiple functions.
- Knowledge of areas such as contracts, partnerships, GDPR, business continuity, procurement or organisational compliance.
- Experience overseeing business systems and technology services, without necessarily being a technical IT specialist.
- A collaborative and proactive approach, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
