Job Description

Research Chemist - Applied Synthesis, HPLC, NMR, Crystallization vacancy for our Stein based client in the Pharma sector.

Your tasks:

  • Independently plan and carry out practical synthesis work, including multi-step reactions and route optimisation.
  • Perform purification of target compounds using suitable standard laboratory techniques.
  • Characterise synthesised products and assess their quality and purity using analytical methods such as HPLC and NMR.
  • Document, review and maintain accurate laboratory records and risk assessments in line with internal standards.
  • Prepare clear written and oral updates on research activities and progress.
  • Support scale-up considerations by evaluating routes against relevant criteria.



Your experience/knowledge:

  • Proven experience in multi-step synthesis, reaction optimisation and purification/characterisation techniques.
  • Hands-on knowledge of HPLC, NMR, crystallisation and flash chromatography.
  • Strong understanding of organic reaction mechanisms and functional group transformations.
  • MSc in Chemistry or vocational chemistry training with demonstrated applied synthesis experience.
  • Language skills: English
