Strata Community Insurance (SCI) is building practical, trustworthy AI capability to work smarter for our teams and customers. We're looking for an AI Specialist to design, build, and ship AI agents and applications that solve real problems - with genuine ownership from idea through to production.
This is a hands-on, build-focused role. You'll partner with Business and Support Analysts, Product Managers, Delivery Leads, and our Quality Assurance Engineer across all six product teams in our Customer, Data and Technology function, turning ideas into working, well-governed AI solutions.
What you'll do- Design, build, test, and ship AI agents and workflows using tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, and Microsoft Foundry
- Integrate AI solutions with SCI's Policy Management, Claims Management, and Data Intelligence platforms
- Design and run evaluations to measure agent accuracy, reliability, and safety
- Help shape SCI's responsible AI standards, data handling practices, and guardrails
- Coach other teams on safe, effective AI use, and build reusable prompts, templates, and documentation
- Use Git Enterprise, Azure DevOps, and Azure services to deploy and maintain solutions to a professional standard
- 2-3 years' experience building AI or software solutions, ideally including LLM-based agents or applications
- Hands-on experience with Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, and Microsoft Foundry
- Practical skills in prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), MCP server integration, and tool calling
- Working knowledge of Python and experience using APIs and SDKs
- A mindset for measuring AI quality through evaluation, not assumption
- Sound judgement around data privacy and responsible AI in a regulated environment
- A relevant qualification in computer science, software engineering, data, or equivalent practical experience
Experience from general insurance or strata is a bonus - full support is provided to complete relevant insurance qualifications.
