Job Title: AppSec Engineer
Location: Rockville, MD or Tysons Corner, VA (Hybrid/Onsite)
Duration: Long-Term

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform application security assessments, penetration testing, and secure code reviews.
  • Identify and remediate vulnerabilities using SAST, DAST, and IAST tools.
  • Address OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, including SQL Injection and XSS.
  • Integrate security best practices into SDLC and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and security architecture reviews.
  • Collaborate with development and DevSecOps teams to improve application security.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of Application Security or Cybersecurity experience.
  • Expertise in Penetration Testing, Secure Code Review, SAST, DAST, IAST, and OWASP Top 10.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Injection, web application, and REST API security.
  • Experience with AppSec tools such as Veracode, Checkmarx, Fortify, Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, or SonarQube.
  • Knowledge of Secure SDLC, DevSecOps, CI/CD, Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub, or GitLab.
  • Familiarity with Java, .NET, Python, or JavaScript.

Preferred Skills

  • GenAI/LLM Security.
  • Cloud Security (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Docker and Kubernetes security.
  • Threat modeling experience.
  • Security certifications (CEH, OSCP, GWAPT, CSSLP, CISSP).
