A fantastic opportunity for a Machine Learning Engineer to join a world-leading AI technology company developing cutting-edge software solutions. This is a specialist Python-focused engineering role with a strong Machine Learning and Large Language Model (LLM) focus, ideal for a Python Engineer who has experience working with ML/LLM technologies.

You will work alongside Software Engineers, Machine Learning specialists and the wider technology team to deploy, integrate and optimise innovative machine learning models within highly advanced, real-world products. This is an opportunity to apply strong Python engineering skills to technically challenging AI and Machine Learning projects within a highly advanced research and development environment.

Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office

Salary: £55,000 to £80,000 per annum + excellent benefits

Requirements for Machine Learning Engineer:

• Strong commercial experience in a Python Software Engineering, Machine Learning Engineering, AI Engineering or closely related role
  
• Strong experience working with Python and the ability to write production-quality code
  
• Commercial or substantial project experience working with Machine Learning and Large Language Models (LLMs) this is an essential requirement for the role
  
• Experience deploying, integrating or working with ML/LLM models in practical applications
  
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks, model deployment and inference technologies
  
• Experience using Python data and matrix manipulation libraries such as NumPy and pandas
  
• This company highly values a top academic history, so is looking for a 1st or 2:1 degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence or another closely related subject with a minimum AAB at A Level, or international equivalent
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  
• Comfortable working autonomously and making technical decisions, while also collaborating closely with a highly technical team
  
• Experience with LangChain and/or LangGraph would be beneficial but is not essential.
  

Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:

• LangChain and/or LangGraph
  
• Python memory management and performance optimisation
  
• GPU optimisation and acceleration
  
• PyTorch
  
• ONNX / ONNX Runtime
  
• Model inference and acceleration
  

Responsibilities for Machine Learning Engineer:

• Develop and maintain high-quality Python software within advanced commercial AI products
  
• Deploy and integrate new machine learning models and Large Language Models into advanced software products
  
• Work closely with Machine Learning specialists to integrate and optimise ML models
  
• Take projects from rapid prototyping and experimentation through to production implementation
  
• Optimise machine learning models and Python software for speed, scale, runtime and memory usage
  
• Help improve the performance and scalability of existing AI systems
  
• Develop innovative new features using machine learning and AI technologies
  
• Explore new technologies and approaches to solve complex technical challenges
  
• Collaborate with Software Engineers, Machine Learning specialists and Security Researchers
  
• Build expertise across a broad range of technology stacks, with opportunities to specialise in particular areas
