Hiring: Applied AI Engineer (React + TypeScript + AI) – Phoenix, AZ

Duration: Long-Term Contract

American Express is looking for a Hands-on Architect / Applied AI Engineer to build next-generation AI-powered developer platforms. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including Generative AI, LLMs, LangGraph, RAG, and modern React/TypeScript applications to help engineering teams build and ship software faster.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, deploy, and optimize AI-driven applications using Generative AI and LLMs.
Build production-grade AI systems integrating machine learning models, LLMs, and supporting services.
Develop agentic AI features using LangGraph, RAG, and MCP-style integrations.
Ensure enterprise-grade reliability, observability, explainability, security, and compliance.
Collaborate with engineering teams to solve complex technical challenges and improve platform performance.

Required Skills
5+ years of software development experience.
Strong JavaScript, TypeScript, and React expertise.
Experience with Generative AI and prompt engineering.
Experience with LangGraph, RAG, or MCP integrations.
CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
Primary Skills: JavaScript | TypeScript | AI | React / ReactJS
