Facilities Technician

Job title: Facilities Technician III
Duration: 9 Months with possible extension
Location: North Reading,MA
Shift: 2nd shift:  2:45 PM to 11:15 PM
Job Description

• Operation Support Customer Service:
• Promoting and conduct good house keeping practices
• Flexibility with work hours and days. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation, including holidays
• Position is required to be oncall on a rotating basis, including holidays and weekends
• Dedicated to supporting production by working in a safe, customer focused manner
• Must be highly selfmotivated and customercentric

Responsibilities will include:

• Repairing and making improvements to building and infrastructure
• Supporting and maintaining fire protection systems
• Maintaining the distribution centers HVAC system
• Maintaining and repairing distribution center racking
• Metal and wood fabrications, including welding
• Repairing and maintaining material handling equipment
• Repairing and maintaining building pneumatic system
• Maintaining automated conveyor system
• Completing preventative maintenance routines, documentation and procedures
• Tracking and storing the departments inventory, including spare parts
• Supporting continuous improvement in department and DC

Physical Demands:

• Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking
• Lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 80 pounds
• Dexterity in eyehand coordination, feet foot pedals, manual picking, pinching, holding, grasping, and wrist motion repetitive flexionrotation
• Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumesodors, hotcold temperatures, insideoutside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience and proficiency in the following areas:
• Automated conveyor systems and controls
• Electrical and electronic principles
• Blueprint and electrical schematic reading
• Repair of material handling equipment
• HVAC maintenance and repair
• Preventative maintenance procedures
• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to multitask and prioritize many different projects and workload
• Ability to work successfully with little supervision
• Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbally with peers, management, contractors and vendors
• Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field
• 4 years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field
