Software Engineer Intern (Multimedia Framework, C++) - 2027 Start (BS/MS)

About the Team

The Multimedia Framework Team powers TikTok's multimedia processing infrastructure, handling video transcoding, cloud editing, and image processing. The team focuses on backend services, multimedia engineering, specialized frameworks, and heterogeneous computing to support the platform's global reach.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in developing a video computing framework that facilitates efficient processing of large-scale video content and complex business requirements.
  • Support multimedia-related business needs across product lines, including image processing, video transcoding, video editing, and video analysis.
  • Conduct performance analysis and optimization for video processing tasks.
Qualifications
  • Currently completing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Proficient in at least one mainstream language (C, C++, Python, or Go) with strong coding skills.
  • Committed to on site work in the Sydney office at least three days per week for a minimum of three months, with potential extension based on performance and agreement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with multimedia technologies such as video codec, detection, and enhancement.
  • Experience in media processing framework development.
  • Experience in performance optimization for video processing.
  • Experience with transcoding or computing platform development.
  • Positive, meticulous work ethic, strong sense of responsibility, and effective team communication and collaboration skills.
