Job Description
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a high performing engineering team in Canberra. In this role, you will support the delivery of modern infrastructure and application platforms using contemporary DevOps practices and tooling. You will work across both infrastructure and application delivery, supporting teams to build, deploy, and operate systems efficiently. This is a hands on role requiring strong experience with automation, source control, and infrastructure as code, with a focus on improving delivery pipelines and system reliability.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support application and platform delivery
- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for scalable and repeatable environments
- Work closely with development teams to enable efficient build, release, and deployment processes
- Support and maintain cloud and on premise infrastructure environments
- Monitor system performance, reliability, and availability, responding to incidents as required
- Automate manual processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and delivery speed
- Maintain and improve environment configuration, version control, and deployment standards
- Collaborate with stakeholders to support secure, scalable, and resilient system designs
- Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of DevOps practices
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role in enterprise environments
- Strong experience working with Git based workflows and version control systems
- Hands on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
- Familiarity with modern engineering practices across infrastructure and application delivery
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure) and deployment practices
- Experience with scripting or automation (e.g. Bash, Python, or similar)
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to work in fast paced delivery environments
- Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous
- Exposure to monitoring, logging, and observability tools is beneficial
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical teams
- Work on modern, high impact technology programs in a secure environment
- Collaborate with experienced engineers across development and infrastructure domains
