Job Description

Senior Engineer - Data Migration & Billing Platforms

Help modernise critical billing and pricing systems within a leading financial services environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop data migration and transformation pipelines to support the transition from a legacy eBilling platform to a modern SaaS billing solution.
  • Build multi stage data processing workflows that ingest, validate, enrich and transform billing and transaction data.
  • Develop file processing solutions, including CSV ingestion and generation of fixed format output files.
  • Create configuration driven mapping frameworks to translate legacy billing structures into target platform formats.
  • Implement complex pricing, fee and billing calculations, including GST treatment and payment fee structures.
  • Develop robust data validation, reconciliation and exception handling processes.
  • Manage reference data, eligibility matrices, lookup tables and rate catalogues.
  • Build automated testing frameworks and regression suites to ensure data quality and migration accuracy.
  • Work closely with business, technology and domain stakeholders to deliver reliable migration outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Strong experience delivering complex data migration, transformation or integration projects.
  • Advanced Python development skills (highly preferred).
  • Experience with Snowflake or Databricks.
  • Experience designing and building ETL and data processing pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of data mapping, transformation and reconciliation techniques.
  • Experience working with structured data formats including CSV, fixed width or batch processing files.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience managing reference data and lookup tables.
  • Experience implementing data validation, error handling and data quality controls.
  • Strong testing discipline, including automation, reconciliation and regression testing.
  • Familiarity with AWS environments.
  • Highly desirable: banking, payments or financial services experience.
  • Understanding of payment and billing products such as BPAY, RTGS, Direct Entry, NPP and International Money Transfers (IMT).
  • Experience with billing, pricing or charging platforms.
  • Understanding of GST treatment within financial or billing systems.
