Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and customer-focused Account Manager to join a leading supplier within the construction and building materials sector covering West Wales.
This is a field-based role focused on developing existing customer accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering profitable sales growth across a designated territory. You'll enjoy the autonomy to manage your own customer portfolio while being supported by an experienced and collaborative team.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts, ensuring excellent service and maximising sales opportunities.
- Identify and win new business within your territory, opening new trading accounts and building long-term relationships.
- Increase customer spend by promoting a broad range of products and services.
- Prepare quotations and provide solutions tailored to customer requirements.
- Promote all current offers, campaigns and product ranges.
- Carry out regular customer visits and proactive sales calls to strengthen relationships and uncover opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues across multiple specialist divisions to deliver a complete solution for customers.
- Work closely with suppliers to negotiate competitive pricing and support joint customer visits where required.
- Maintain accurate customer records and activity reports using the CRM system.
- Attend regular sales review meetings and contribute to strategic growth plans.
- Achieve agreed sales, profit and KPI targets.
- Proven experience in a sales, account management or business development role.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage your own diary and prioritise workload effectively.
- Commercially minded with a track record of delivering sales growth.
- Knowledge of construction, building materials, timber, plumbing, roofing or associated sectors would be advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence.
