Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Architect to lead the target-state design of enterprise network infrastructure as part of a major data center exit and cloud migration initiative.

This is primarily a design, architecture, and advisory role, not a hands-on configuration role. The Architect will act as the network design authority and technical escalation point, guiding engineering teams through network discovery, target-state design, migration planning, and production cutover activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design target-state enterprise network architecture, including routing, switching, segmentation, firewall policies, and connectivity topologies.
  • Lead network discovery across Cisco Meraki and other enterprise networking environments and translate findings into future-state designs.
  • Define network flows, dependencies, segmentation requirements, hub-and-spoke connectivity, and migration constraints.
  • Produce high-level and low-level network designs, IP addressing plans, and traffic flow documentation.
  • Design hybrid connectivity between on-premises data centers and AWS/Azure cloud environments.
  • Act as the technical design authority, reviewing and approving network configurations, migration approaches, and cutover plans.
  • Provide technical guidance and escalation support to network engineers and SMEs.
  • Design and rationalize firewall policies and security controls in collaboration with security teams.
  • Support complex network migration, testing, cutover, decommissioning, and production transition activities.
  • Review migration runbooks, as-built documentation, and technical deliverables for enterprise standards.

Required Skills
  • 11+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
  • 4+ years in a Network Architect, Lead Engineer, or technical architecture role.
  • Strong enterprise routing and switching experience with BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VRFs, and Spanning Tree.
  • Strong experience with firewall architecture, policy design, rule migration, and rule-base rationalization.
  • Experience designing hybrid cloud connectivity using AWS and/or Azure.
  • Knowledge of AWS networking services such as VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, or similar cloud connectivity solutions.
  • Experience with data center migrations, network cutovers, and production infrastructure transitions.
  • Experience with load balancing and enterprise data center network services.
  • Strong stakeholder management, technical presentation, and documentation skills.
  • Experience working as a technical escalation point and design authority for distributed engineering teams.

Nice to Have
  • CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent senior-level networking certification.
  • Experience with network automation using Ansible, Python, or Terraform.
  • Experience with SD-WAN or software-defined data center networking.
  • Cisco Meraki discovery and architecture experience.
