Job Overview

We are seeking a Principal AI Developer to provide technical vision, hands-on engineering leadership, and enterprise-level architecture for strategic AI initiatives. This role will lead complex AI transformations, define scalable AI architecture and governance standards, and serve as a trusted technical advisor to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own enterprise-wide AI/ML architecture and technical strategy.
• Remain hands-on in Python development, AI/ML engineering, and system design.
• Design and implement scalable, distributed AI systems for enterprise environments.
• Lead high-impact AI transformations from architecture through implementation.
• Establish AI governance, responsible AI, security, and ethical AI frameworks.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and guide strategic technology investments.
• Partner with executive leadership and communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
• Establish long-term engineering standards, best practices, and architecture patterns.
• Mentor senior/principal engineers and develop future technical leaders.
• Collaborate across cloud platforms, data ecosystems, software engineering, and AI/ML teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of software engineering and applied AI/ML experience.
• Strong, hands-on Python development experience.
• Expert knowledge of AI/ML, generative AI, LLMs, and scalable AI systems.
• Proven experience designing distributed and enterprise-scale AI architectures.
• Strong experience with cloud platforms, data ecosystems, APIs, and modern software architecture.
• Demonstrated technical leadership on complex, enterprise-wide AI initiatives.
• Excellent executive communication, strategic thinking, and mentoring skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN.
