Lead HTL’s Engineering team responsible for developing next-generation tactical products, antennas, systems-of-systems, and leading platform integration projects to support DoD missions.
Description:
HTL is searching for qualified candidates interested in an Engineering Leadership position focused on development of Tactical products and DF antennas. The position leads HTL’s Platforms and Peripheral Systems group which is responsible for system and project engineering for HTL’s Direction Finding antenna products, Tactical products, and Platform integration projects. The ideal candidate would both manage the small team of engineers about 10-20% of the time and would function as a project engineer 80-90% of the time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a small team of engineers in development, integration, testing and releasing-to-production new HTL products including DF antennas, amplifiers and other tactical peripherals.
- Managing NRE projects where HTL is a subcontractor and member of a broader government team.
- Management responsibilities including reviewing and signing timesheets and expense reports, assigning team members to projects and monitoring performance, individual performance reviews/evaluations.
- Project Engineering responsibilities include technical leadership of cross-functional project team in developing products.
- Working directly with Program Management and external customers to develop cost and schedule estimates, staffing plans, status reports, etc.
- Other work products include product-line roadmaps, system diagrams, system data sheets, component specifications, test plans, and user’s manuals.
- Support building and testing prototype systems, HW and SW integration, and field testing.
- Leading the transition of new products to production through the generation of module and system test procedures and working with the manufacturing engineering team to complete the handoff.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a Master’s Degree Preferred.
- Other disciplines may be considered as well.
- Relevant industry experience in high technology electronics development is a must including direction finding antennas, transceivers, DSP/FPGA technology and associated packaging.
- Experience with military ground and airborne environments is an advantage.
