MedPal AI plc owns a number of subsidiaries, each operating independent technical products and platforms.

Our platform, New Health url removed , is experiencing rapid growth and is transforming access to prescription treatments for common health concerns, including obesity and hair loss. Our current focus is on GLP-1 treatments, with plans to expand into additional healthcare services and products over the coming months.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer with strong commercial PHP expertise. Experience with Python is highly desirable.

You will play a key role in the design, development, and maintenance of the New Health platform and supporting infrastructure. You'll work closely with product, marketing, clinical, and UX teams to deliver reliable, high-performing features that directly impact business growth and patient outcomes.

This is an opportunity to have genuine influence over technical decisions and architecture, working directly alongside senior leadership in a fast-growing business.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain PHP-based web applications and backend services.
• Build and optimise integrations with third-party APIs and healthcare systems.
• Develop secure and efficient solutions for AI-driven features and workflows.
• Design and maintain MySQL databases and supporting infrastructure.
• Build and improve responsive frontend interfaces using modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and product enhancements.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise platform performance.
• Contribute to architecture, technical strategy, and engineering best practices.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and ongoing platform operations.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong backend development experience with PHP.
• Proven experience integrating APIs and designing database-backed applications.
• Solid frontend development skills using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Strong knowledge of Git and GitHub workflows.
• Experience working with Docker and Linux environments.
• Experience building secure, scalable production systems.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Computer Science degree or equivalent commercial experience.

Desirable Experience

• Python and Flask development.
• Health-tech, AI, or data-intensive applications.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Experience working in high-growth technology businesses.

AI-Assisted Development
AI-assisted development is a core part of our workflow. Candidates should already be proficient with tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar modern development assistants, while maintaining strong engineering judgement and the ability to work independently when required.

Working Environment
Our office is located in Aldbury, near Tring, in a quiet countryside setting. We are currently refurbishing the workspace with high-quality desks and chairs to create an excellent engineering environment. There is also a popular caf located onsite.

While we can offer some flexibility for hybrid working (up to one day per week from home), this role requires regular in-person collaboration and is therefore primarily office-based.
