Position Summary

The School of Computer Applications invites applications for the position of Associate Professor in BCA and MCA programs. The candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, conducting research, mentoring students, contributing to curriculum development, and supporting the academic and administrative activities of the department.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate (BCA) and postgraduate (MCA) courses in Computer Applications and related disciplines.
• Develop and update course materials, lesson plans, laboratory manuals, and learning resources.
• Deliver lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and project guidance.
• Evaluate student performance through examinations, assignments, projects, and continuous assessments.
• Mentor and counsel students on academic and career development.

Research & Publications

• Undertake quality research in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Software Engineering, or related areas.
• Publish research papers in reputed Scopus/Web of Science indexed journals.
• Guide student research projects and dissertations.
• Apply for funded research projects, grants, consultancy, and collaborative research opportunities.

Curriculum & Program Development

• Contribute to curriculum design and revision in line with industry requirements and emerging technologies.
• Develop value-added courses, certification programs, and industry-oriented training modules.
• Support accreditation and quality assurance initiatives including NAAC, NBA, and other statutory requirements.

Industry Engagement

• Establish collaborations with industry partners and professional bodies.
• Facilitate internships, industrial visits, guest lectures, workshops, and placement activities.
• Promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup initiatives among students.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Participate in departmental committees and university activities.
• Assist in admissions, examinations, academic audits, student activities, and institutional development initiatives.
• Support accreditation, ranking, and documentation processes.

Eligibility Criteria

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Master's Degree (MCA/M.Tech./M.Sc. Computer Science or equivalent) with consistently good academic record.
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of teaching/research/industry experience, of which at least 8-10 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent in a reputed institution.
• Experience in teaching BCA and MCA subjects.
• Proven research and publication record.

Desired Skills

• Strong knowledge of Programming Languages, Database Management Systems, Operating Systems, Data Structures, Software Engineering, Web Technologies, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, and related domains.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and mentoring skills.
• Experience in Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and academic quality frameworks.
• Ability to develop industry-academia collaborations.
• Strong research orientation and project management skills.
• Proficiency in LMS platforms and digital teaching tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Research publications in indexed journals.
• Experience in guiding postgraduate projects.
• Certifications in emerging technologies such as AI/ML, Cloud Computing, Data Analytics, Cyber Security, or Full Stack Development.
• Experience in NAAC/NBA accreditation processes.
• Consultancy, funded projects, patents, or technology development experience.
