Role Overview

Our Client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Engineer (Cloud Applications & Integration) to spearhead the architecture, design, development, integration, and lifecycle management of custom-built applications.

This role is pivotal in driving digital transformation initiatives by delivering scalable, secure, and well-architected solutions aligned with enterprise standards and long-term extensibility.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and mentor a team of application developers and integration specialists
• Provide guidance on architecture, design patterns, and scalable solutions
• Assign tasks, set priorities, and track performance
• Support recruitment and onboarding efforts
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment

Application Development & Architecture

• Oversee full application lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
• Ensure architectural governance and design consistency
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and solution designs
• Architect scalable, secure, and maintainable applications
• Enforce coding standards and best practices
• Manage source code, version control, and deployments

Integration Strategy & Execution

• Develop and implement enterprise-wide integration strategy
• Integrate applications with ERP, CRM, data warehouses, and third-party APIs
• Design integration solutions using:
• API management platforms
• ETL tools
• Messaging queues
• ESBs
• Ensure data integrity, security, and performance
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues

Technical Leadership & Delivery

• Provide technical direction to implementation teams
• Participate in architectural reviews and technology selection
• Contribute to project planning, estimation, and delivery tracking
• Communicate project status and progress to stakeholders

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Master's degree preferred

Technical Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience designing and operating production applications on AWS
• Expertise with AWS services:
• Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, EC2
• S3, RDS/DynamoDB
• SNS/SQS, EventBridge, CloudFront
• Experience with enterprise integrations (ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)
• Strong API and integration experience:
• REST / GraphQL
• Event-driven architecture
• Messaging systems
• Programming expertise in:
• Node.js, Java, or Python
• JavaScript / TypeScript
• Modern UI frameworks (e.g., React)
• Experience with:
• AI agents and LLM-based applications (RAG, prompt design, evaluation/monitoring)
• DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Automated testing and observability (logging, metrics, tracing)
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK)

Additional Competencies

• Strong cloud security knowledge (IAM, encryption, secrets management, network controls)
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication and leadership abilities
• Agile development experience

Nice to Have

• SAP experience:
• SAP ERP / S/4HANA integration (IDoc, OData, BAPI/RFC)
• SAP BTP/CAP
• SAP Fiori / SAPUI5
• SAP Integration Suite
