Are you a CMF Engineer or Materials specialist looking to work on exceptional, low-volume products? Do you have experience developing colours, materials, finishes and specifications from design intent through to production? Would you like to work closely with Design, Engineering, suppliers and production to see your work become a finished product?A highly regarded bespoke automotive engineering manufactureris looking to recruit a CMF Engineer to support the development and delivery of Colour, Materials and Finish across its products.
The business creates highly individual, low-volume vehicles for an international customer base, combining engineering, design, craftsmanship and exceptional attention to detail.This is a hands-on position where you'll help translate creative CMF direction into practical, manufacturable solutions and ensure the original design intent is maintained through to the finished product.
The RoleWorking across interior, exterior and component-level applications, you'll coordinate materials, samples, finishes, specifications and suppliers while working closely with Design, Engineering and Production.
You'll also support customer specification activities, helping clients navigate material and finish options within the overall design direction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate CMF strategy into specifications, palettes, sample sets, standards and production documentation
  • Source, sample and validate colours, materials, finishes with specialist suppliers
  • Collaborate with Design and Engineering to ensure solutions achieve the required aesthetic, functional and manufacturing requirements
  • Review samples and first-off components, resolving material, finish, quality and supplier consistency issues
  • Support client specifications while maintaining accurate CMF documentation, approvals and material libraries

Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience within CMF, Colour & Materials, product design, materials, interiors or a related discipline
  • Strong understanding of physical materials and how colour, texture and finish translate from concept into production
  • Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional Engineering, Design and Manufacturing teams
  • Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organisational and communication skills
  • Comfortable working within a fast-moving, low volume, high value manufacturing environment
