Payroll Solution Architect
Location: Holborn, London
Contract: Temporary Assignment (minimum 4 months, with potential extension)
Salary: 31.25 - 36.05 per hour ( 65,000- 75,000 equiv)
Working Pattern: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-6:00pm
Hybrid Working: Flexible hybrid working
We are working with an innovative tech company seeking an experienced Payroll Solutions Specialist to support the successful delivery and optimisation of UK payroll solutions for a growing customer base.
This is a highly consultative role where you will act as the go-to expert for UK payroll processes, legislation, system configuration and payroll best practice. Working across implementation, customer-facing and internal teams, you will help ensure payroll solutions are delivered efficiently, remain compliant and meet the evolving needs of customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance on UK payroll legislation, compliance and operational best practice.
- Support the design, configuration and optimisation of payroll solutions.
- Work closely with implementation and customer-facing teams to support onboarding and adoption activities.
- Lead requirements gathering and discovery sessions with stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot complex payroll and system-related issues.
- Advise on integrations between payroll and other business systems.
- Identify risks and opportunities for process improvement.
- Develop and maintain payroll-related documentation, guides and best practices.
- Deliver training and knowledge-sharing sessions to both customers and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes, functionality and overall customer experience.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and payroll operations.
- Experience implementing, configuring or supporting payroll systems.
- Background in a customer-facing payroll, systems or consultancy role.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate complex payroll requirements into practical solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
- CIPP qualification or equivalent.
- Experience within SaaS, software or technology environments.
- Knowledge of HR, finance or payroll system integrations.
- Experience supporting multiple payroll clients or large-scale payroll operations.
- Exposure to payroll transformation or system migration projects.
