Role Title Senior Quality Engineer

Location - NYC

Employment Type - Long Term Contract

What to expect

• Write, maintain, and execute automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)
• Develop and execute manual exploratory test cases where automation isn't practical
• Create test plans, define resource requirements, and coordinate testing schedules
• Generate and manage test data across test phases
• Identify, report, track, and help remediate web-related defects
• Develop and use service virtualization, mocks, and test data strategies to validate functionality across dependent systems
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to testing toolchain, frameworks, and CI/CD integration
• Partner with developers during feature implementation to enable shift-left testing and early defect prevention

Required

• 5+ years of JavaScript-based test automation (Playwright, WebDriverIO, or similar)
• Strong understanding of modern web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, browser DevTools, HTTP/REST)
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and familiarity with modern test runners (e.g., Jest, Playwright Test)
• Experience with Continuous Integration (GitHub Actions) and automated test execution
• Experience with performance testing for web pages and APIs
• Experience with accessibility testing tools (axe-core, Lighthouse) and WCAG 2.1 compliance validation
• Cross-browser testing experience
• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Strong communication skills with the ability to advocate for quality across cross-functional teams

Nice to have

• Experience with visual regression testing tools (Percy, Chromatic, Playwright visual comparisons)
• Experience testing localized web applications across multiple markets
• Experience with SauceLabs or BrowserStack
• SAFe (Agile at scale) experience
• Knowledge of application architecture

Experience with AI-assisted testing and engineering tools (e.g., AI-driven test generation, copilot-assisted debugging, intelligent test analysis
