Job Description
Role: Domain Operator, Life Sciences
Location: United States (Remote, with periodic travel to client and partner sites)
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (Initial 6-month contract with conversion to full-time based on performance)
Industry Focus: Life Sciences (Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Medical Devices, and CROs)
Key Responsibilities:
Segment Strategy & Market Development
- Develop and maintain a data-driven segment strategy that identifies:
o Priority use cases
o Target buyer personas
o Budget ownership and purchasing dynamics
o Key success factors and competitive differentiators
- Establish a clear point of view on where our solutions create the greatest market impact and where investment should not be pursued.
Customer Validation & Market Intelligence
Conduct structured discovery and validation interviews with leaders across:
•
o Market Access
o Patient Services
o Medical Affairs
o Commercial Operations
o Clinical Operations
- Synthesize findings into actionable recommendations supported by evidence and unbiased market feedback.
- Continuously monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and evolving customer needs.
Commercial & Business Development
- Identify, qualify, and help develop early customer opportunities in partnership with hyperscaler and cloud ecosystem sellers.
- Build and refine the segment messaging, value proposition, and customer engagement approach.
- Support the development of commercial packaging, including cloud marketplace offerings, private offers, and pricing strategy.
Product & Solution Development
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Clinical AI teams to translate market needs into product requirements.
- Prioritize feature recommendations based on customer value and commercial viability.
- Provide clear guidance on product investments, including recommendations on capabilities that should not be pursued.
Segment Ownership & Growth
- Serve as the primary business owner for the Life Sciences segment through the acquisition of initial production customers and reference accounts.
- Establish repeatable playbooks, success stories, and scalable go-to-market practices for future growth.
Success Measures: First 90 Days
Days 1–30: Learn & Assess
- Complete the Healthcare Brain Academy Client Engagement curriculum.
- Develop working knowledge of all platform capabilities, limitations, and deployment models.
- Establish key internal and external stakeholder relationships.
Days 31–60: Validate & Define
- Conduct comprehensive market validation interviews with life sciences stakeholders.
- Deliver a written segment strategy outlining:
- Priority use cases
- Target buyers
- Market opportunity sizing
- Go / No-Go recommendations
Days 61–90: Launch & Execute
- Develop the initial Life Sciences value proposition and market narrative.
- Enable cloud partner sellers on segment positioning.
- Generate and qualify at least two high-potential customer opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- 5–8 years of experience within Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Medical Device, or Contract Research Organizations (CROs).
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
o Market Access
o Reimbursement & HEOR
o Patient Services & Hub Operations
o Medical Affairs Operations
o Commercial Operations
o Clinical Operations
• Demonstrated ownership of operational programs, processes, or strategic initiatives, including examples such as:
o Hub services implementation or optimization
o Market access and reimbursement support
o Field reimbursement program development
o Cross-functional operational scaling initiatives
- Strong understanding of the intersection between life sciences, providers, and payers, including:
- Coverage and reimbursement processes
- Prior authorization workflows
- Benefits verification
- Copay assistance and patient support programs
- Field reimbursement services
- Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements governing healthcare and life sciences AI applications, including Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review processes.
- Familiarity with payer and provider operational models and the administrative burden associated with medical policy and prior authorization management.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive adoption across cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical thinking, business judgment, and comfort operating in uncertain environments.
- Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to develop concise, evidence-based business recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications
- PharmD, RN, MPH, or other scientific, clinical, or healthcare-related advanced degree.
- Experience supporting the launch of specialty therapeutics, biologics, or medical devices with complex reimbursement requirements.
- Experience designing, implementing, or governing AI-driven solutions within regulated healthcare or life sciences environments.
- Understanding of Microsoft Azure, cloud marketplace commercialization, private offer structures, or hyperscaler co-sell motions.
- Previous experience in health technology, healthcare SaaS, digital health, analytics, or AI-enabled solution environments
