Cloud Architect (Azure) - SC Cleared

Location: Milton Keynes (2 days per week on-site)
Contract: Outside IR35
Rate: Up to £550-600 per day
Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance required
Nationality Requirement: Candidates must be sole UK nationals
Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to support a high-profile client on the design and delivery of secure cloud solutions. The successful candidate will have extensive Azure expertise and a strong background in Microsoft security technologies, with particular experience deploying Microsoft Defender and Microsoft XDR.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a security-focused cloud transformation programme within a highly secure environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure cloud architectures within Microsoft Azure.
• Lead the deployment and integration of Microsoft Defender across the Azure estate.
• Design and deliver Microsoft XDR solutions to improve threat detection and response capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and engineering teams to ensure solutions align with business and security requirements.
• Produce high-quality architecture documentation and ensure compliance with security and governance standards.
• Support the migration and optimisation of cloud services while embedding security best practices.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Cloud Architect in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure architecture and cloud services.
• Hands-on experience deploying and configuring Microsoft Defender.
• Experience implementing Microsoft XDR solutions.
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles and Microsoft security technologies.
• Experience working within secure or regulated environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Requirements

• Active SC Clearance.
• Sole UK national (client requirement).
• Ability to work on-site in Milton Keynes two days per week.
• Available for an outside IR35 contract.
