Java Developer - Backend

Senior Backend Engineer Location: London Full Time - 40 hours pw Rate: £700 - £800 Duration: 6 months Hybrid - 2-3 days in London offer OR 100% remote Work supporting our new generation of games. You will challenge and refine our way of working with internal technology.

YOUR ROLE As our Java Backend Developer you will be a part of a team with the mission to build and maintain technology to support the studio in creating our new games. This includes integrating with existing tech, developing new creative solutions for our games, investigating problems reported by the game teams and coaching fellow developers.

You will work in close collaboration with our Unity developers to enjoy a creative, challenging and collaborative workplace where your ideas will be every bit as valued as your programming expertise. SKILLS TO CREATE THRILLS You have great passion for system development, new technologies, large scale systems and games in particular.

You're an excellent communicator, happy dealing with people from different business units and with varying degrees of technical savvy. Therefore, you're able to translate business needs to technical requirements and implementation.

Able to architect, design and implement components, features and systems in Java.<br />Able to design technical solutions that follow a good balance between SOLID and KISS principles.<br />Excited about working on a live game product with a massive number of active users.<br />Knowledge of databases and general web development.<br />Able to support game servers from a Level 3 support perspective, investigating issues when escalated.<br />Experienced working with UNIX environments and Git.<br />Experience working with custom tech stacks, reaching out to developers outside of the immediate team when needed.<br />Great communication between our dedicated ops team, client developers and other backend developers.<br />Ability to work with different teams and provide mentorship to junior developers<br />Experience with developing backend for mobile apps.
