Turner & Townsend is seeking a Head of Major Bids to lead the development and delivery of high-value, high-complexity bids across our Energy & Natural Resources practice, with a proven track record of winning major bids. Working closely with the UK Head of Major Bids; bid leadership team and client account leads, this role is critical to driving our continued success. The role will oversee the development of multimillion pound bid responses and ensure and ensure high quality submissions.

This is a senior, business-critical role responsible for driving win rates on strategic pursuits — spanning nuclear, transmission and conventional and low carbon energies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end bid management for major Energy & Natural Resources pursuits, from opportunity qualification through to submission and client presentation
  • Own the bid strategy and win themes for each pursuit, working closely with UK Head of Major Bids; and client account leads
  • Manage bid governance, timelines, and quality assurance, ensuring compliance with client requirements and internal standards
  • Coach and direct multidisciplinary bid teams (technical authors, commercial, HR, marketing) to produce compelling, client-centric submissions
  • Drive continuous improvement of bid content, templates, and case study libraries specific to the Energy & Natural Resources sector
  • Lead post-bid debriefs and win/loss analysis, feeding insight back into sector strategy
  • Support pricing and commercial strategy discussions in partnership with commercial leads
  • Represent T&T in client-facing presentations, workshops, and final-stage pitches
  • Build and maintain a pipeline view of upcoming opportunities in partnership with business development

About You

  • Proven track record leading and securing major bids/proposals within energy, natural resources, infrastructure, or a related professional services/consultancy environment
  • Strong understanding of the E&NR sector landscape — and the client procurement processes typical to it
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with credibility operating at Senior level
  • Proven analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities, supported by a strong track record solving abilities, supported by a strong track record of delivery
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; able to translate technical capability into persuasive client narrative
  • Experience managing bid budgets, timelines, and cross-functional teams under pressure
  • APMP qualification (or working towards) desirable
  • Comfortable operating in a matrixed, fast-paced consultancy environment
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain high quality outputs. 
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build credible, collaborative relationships across senior stakeholders and bid teams. 
  • Effective stakeholder management skills.
