Financial Systems Analyst 

Location: hybrid in Akron, OH; Greensburg, PA; Wheeling, WV; Fairmont, WV; or Morristown, NJ
Contract: 24 month long contract with potential of extension or conversion to full time 
Pay: $36/hr + optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Financial Reporting

• Partner with finance, operations, and leadership teams to gather requirements and define reporting needs.
• Develop and maintain financial and operational reporting solutions that support business objectives.
• Analyze financial performance, budgets, forecasts, accruals, and variances to identify trends and opportunities.
• Create and maintain KPIs, scorecards, and executive-level performance metrics.
• Translate business requirements into scalable reporting and analytics solutions.
• Drive process improvements through automation, reporting enhancements, and data-driven recommendations.

Reporting & Dashboard Development

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and visualizations used by leadership teams.
• Create executive reporting packages that clearly communicate business performance and key trends.
• Develop reporting solutions supporting financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and operational performance measurement.
• Automate recurring reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Maintain reporting governance standards to ensure consistency, accuracy, and reliability.

Data Engineering & Analytics

• Write complex SQL queries to extract, validate, transform, and analyze data from multiple source systems.
• Support the development and maintenance of modern analytics solutions utilizing Databricks and related technologies.
• Integrate operational, financial, and business data from multiple platforms into centralized reporting environments.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting and analytics platforms.
• Assist with the migration of reporting and analytics solutions to Databricks-based architectures.
• Utilize Python and related tools for automation and advanced analytics when appropriate.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with finance and business leaders to understand reporting requirements and strategic objectives.
• Participate in executive reporting discussions and KPI development initiatives.
• Communicate complex technical concepts and analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate across finance, analytics, and technology teams to deliver business value.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Candidates actively pursuing a degree may also be considered.
• 1–3+ years of experience in business analysis, financial reporting, business intelligence, analytics, database development, or related disciplines.
• Advanced SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Experience developing dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, financial modeling, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Databricks or a willingness to learn and support Databricks adoption initiatives.
• Experience with Python, Pandas, or similar analytics tools.
• Familiarity with Azure data and analytics technologies.
• Experience integrating data from multiple business systems.
• Experience working with ERP, financial, operational, or enterprise data platforms.
• Experience within utilities, manufacturing, financial services, or other large enterprise environments.
