Trainer - Financial Crime & Compliance

Awwal Talent is looking for an experienced and passionate Trainer - Financial Crime & Compliance to join us on a freelance/contract basis and deliver high-quality, practical training programmes for aspiring banking and compliance professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver live online training sessions on Banking Fundamentals, AML, KYC, CDD, Sanctions, Fraud, and Financial Crime Compliance.
• Facilitate interactive workshops, discussions, and practical case studies.
• Guide learners through real-world scenarios and industry best practices.
• Support the development and refinement of training materials, presentations, and assessments.
• Evaluate learner performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with the Awwal Talent team to continuously improve programme quality
• Collaborate with internal teams and industry partners to incorporate current regulatory developments, emerging risks, and technology trends into the curriculum.

We're looking for someone with

• 5+ years of experience in Financial Crime Compliance, AML, KYC, Sanctions, Fraud Risk, or Regulatory Compliance.
• Experience working in banks, fintechs, consulting firms, or regulated financial institutions.
• Previous experience delivering classroom, virtual, or corporate training programmes.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse cohorts and explain complex topics clearly
• Demonstrated expertise or exposure to financial crime, AML, KYC, sanctions, fraud investigations, or regulatory compliance in banking or related sectors.
• Professional certifications such as CAMS, SGSS , CFE or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners, and to adapt
• A passion for mentoring and developing future compliance professionals.
