Senior Electrical Engineer

Senior Electrical Engineer £60 per hour - Outside IR35 Remote with occasional site visits 6 month initial contract

Key responsibilities:

Provide electrical engineering support across BESS and grid connection projects<br />Review contractor and consultant electrical designs<br />Support projects through FEED, detailed design, construction and commissioning phases<br />Review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), Protection studies, Earthing designs, HV equipment specifications<br />Support grid connection activities with DNOs, National Grid, ICPs and OEMs<br />Review load flow, fault level and protection coordination studies<br />Provide technical assurance throughout project delivery<br />Support procurement activities including technical bid evaluations<br />Assist with commissioning, energisation and handover activities<br />Ensure compliance with UK Grid Code, G99 and relevant IEC/BS standardsEssential

requirements:

Degree qualified Electrical Engineer / Power Systems Engineer<br />Strong HV electrical engineering background<br />Experience within BESS, renewable energy, power generation or HV infrastructure projects<br />Experience with HV systems (11kV-132kV), substations, transformers, switchgear and protection systems<br />Experience reviewing electrical designs and contractor documentation<br />Knowledge of UK grid connections and G99 requirements<br />Experience working with DNOs, National Grid or ICPsDesirable: BESS project experience<br />Experience providing technical assurance or design review on behalf of an asset owner/developer<br />Experience reviewing EPC contractor designs and managing electrical engineering interfaces<br />Experience with power system modelling software such as ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or PSCAD<br />SCADA/substation automation knowledge<br />Commissioning and energisation experience<br />CEng or working towards chartership
