UDB Database Administrator

Role: UDB Database Administrator

Location: Cary, NC (Onsite from Day 1)

Duration : 6 to 12 Months

• Experience in the creation and configuration of new Unix and Linux database server environments and creation of new 11.x database environments; Technical knowledge and experience with database environments, tools, utilities, configurations, backup and recovery, job scheduling, release management, change management and compliance.
• Experience in supporting 9.x, 10.x, 11.x environments
• Management of database elements, including creation, alteration, deletion and copying of schemas, databases, tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, triggers and declarative integrity constraints. Knowledge of all key DB2/LUW utilities such as HADR, Reorg, Runstats, Load
• Strong collaboration with application development teams on database security, query optimization and performance.
• Creation and management of the database maintenance processes and jobs (such as backups, weekly DBA maintenance trails, statistics, reorgs).
• Document database maintenance processing flows per standards.
• SQL & Perl, Korn and other scripting skills are a plus.
• Working knowledge of Netezza and/or Informex
• Administration skills in Linux and/or AIX
• DB2/LUW DPF experience / UDB EEE
• Physical database design for all new development efforts for the supported application portfolio Performance and tuning of application developed SQL and procedures
• Implementation of all utility processing for supported databases
• Creation and Implementation of backup, recovery and DR strategies within supported application portfolio
• Implementation of application driven schema changes
