Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce has a client seeking a remote VP of Cybersecurity Operations. This executive-level leader will be responsible for defining, implementing, and overseeing the organization's enterprise cybersecurity strategy. This role serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing strategic direction across cybersecurity operations, cloud security, governance, risk and compliance (GRC), incident response, security architecture, and cybersecurity awareness programs. The VP will lead efforts to safeguard critical systems, digital assets, and sensitive information while ensuring alignment with regulatory, contractual, and organizational security requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of an enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategy
  • Direct cybersecurity operations, risk management, cloud security, incident response, and security architecture initiatives
  • Establish and maintain cybersecurity policies, standards, and governance frameworks
  • Define security architecture roadmaps and evaluate emerging technologies and security controls
  • Oversee cybersecurity risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Partner with technology leadership to implement security solutions and safeguards
  • Develop and manage cyber incident response processes, including identification, containment, recovery, and communication activities
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, legal, and contractual security requirements
  • Provide strategic security guidance for enterprise initiatives and technology projects
  • Deliver executive and board-level reporting regarding cybersecurity program maturity, risk posture, and strategic priorities
  • Foster relationships with internal stakeholders, external vendors, regulators, and business partners
  • Lead and mentor senior cybersecurity leaders and technical teams

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 15+ years of experience across cybersecurity, information security, risk management, and information technology disciplines
  • 5+ years of experience in senior cybersecurity leadership roles
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST
  • Experience with regulatory and compliance frameworks including HIPAA, HITRUST, PCI DSS, SOC 2, GDPR, CCPA, CIS, and related standards
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing enterprise security programs
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills
  • Strong analytical, project management, budget management, and leadership capabilities
  • Ability to manage complex security initiatives in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Certifications

  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
  • CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
  • CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)
  • Other relevant cybersecurity leadership certifications

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
