Job Description

Position: Mechanical Engineer – Marine Unit Design
Location: Duncan, OK (Onsite) Can be on-site in Houston, TX, but need to travel to Duncan OK once a week
Exp: 5-12 Yrs


Target Companies: SBM, Aries Energy, ABS Marine engineering, DNV (Maritime services)

What You Will Do:
Develop conceptual and detailed design of marine equipment, piping systems, and mechanical packages (static/rotating equipment, HVAC, deck machinery, cranes).
Apply industry codes and standards (API, ASME, ANSI, ASTM, NFPA) to ensure safety and compliance.
Analyze and improve performance of pumps, generators, compressors, and hydraulic
systems.
Create, review, and finalize technical drawings, specifications, and budgets for new installations.
Evaluate offshore structure integrity, environmental load responses, and hydrodynamic conditions.
Investigate equipment failures and recommend remedial actions. 

Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering.
Experience: 5-10 years of experience in mechanical design within the marine/offshore oil & gas sector
(FPSO, drillships, or jackups).
Software Proficiency: Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar 3D modeling software, along with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.
Codes & Standards: Thorough knowledge of ASME, API, and ABS standards.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders,
vendors, and clients.
Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) License (preferred) or capability to acquire. 
Travel: 20% required
