Senior SAP BusinessObjects Developer / Platform Administrator

The Senior SAP BusinessObjects Developer / Platform Administrator will be responsible for the design, development, deployment, and optimization of enterprise reporting solutions and universes while providing secondary platform administration support. The engineer will split responsibilities between hands-on BI development (WebI, Crystal Reports, semantic layer data modeling, performance tuning) and co-administration of the platform (Central Management Server configuration, RBAC/folder security, cost/resource optimization, and upgrades). They will work closely with Product Owners, Data Engineers, Architects, and Scrum/Kanban teams to ensure alignment with platform performance standards, security requirements, architectural designs, Agile delivery expectations, and that person will help ensure the tool is optimized for FPS user purposes.

Must have requirements:
* 10+ years of overall tech experience as a BI/ETL Developer and 2+ years of SAP BusinessObjects Administration.
* Ability to work independently and effectively with little to no supervision.
* Strong SAP BusinessObjects Platform Administration and Development experience, including BI Launch Pad management, complex RBAC/security profile design, and semantic layer management.
* Deep understanding of SAP BusinessObjects architecture (Central Management Server, Input/Output File Repository Servers, Processing Servers, Connection Server, and Promotion Management).
* Hands-on experience developing advanced semantic layers, utilizing both Information Design Tool (IDT for `.unx`) and Universe Design Tool (UDT for `.unv`) across varied data sources.
* Must have advanced SQL skills for writing complex analytical queries, data transformation, report performance tuning, and query profiling.
* Demonstrated ability to use Python, PowerShell, or shell scripting to automate database administration, BO SDK workflows, or report scheduling.
* AWS experience (managing IAM roles, security policies, and connecting BO environments to cloud-based data warehouses/external stages).
* Team player with excellent executive function and communication skills.


Preferred requirements:
* Experience designing and implementing disaster recovery, backup/failover strategies, and version upgrades/patching for SAP BusinessObjects environments.
* Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience; certification preferred.
* Relevant SAP certifications (e.g., SAP Certified Application Associate - SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence or BI Platform).
* Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience using Terraform or automated scripting for environment setup and BI object provisioning.
* CLI Linux experience and automation of cloud-native BI architectures.
* FinOps and cost-optimization experience (optimizing Universe query efficiency and caching strategies to minimize warehouse compute costs for incremental loads).
