Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and enhance features across existing services and new services as needed
• Develop Kafka producers and consumers to support event-driven workflows at scale
• Contribute to application architecture and help translate high-level ideas into practical technical designs
• Write clean, testable code and maintain strong automated test coverage
• Support operational readiness by participating in on-call coverage and helping triage issues
• Collaborate with engineers to review designs, share feedback, and improve implementation quality
• Work within established deployment, communication, and change management practices
• Help reduce repeat incidents by identifying root causes and improving long-term solutions

Skills

• 10+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong experience with JVM-based development, especially Kotlin and Java
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot or Micronaut
• Experience building highly scalable, distributed systems
• Working knowledge of Kafka and event-driven architecture
• Experience with Postgres and MongoDB
• Ability to solve problems effectively and support operational troubleshooting
• Comfort working in a team environment with a strong focus on quality and collaboration
• Ability to work in a hybrid schedule with onsite presence on Wednesdays and during core weeks
• Background check and drug screen required upon offer

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Elastic and the ELK stack
• Familiarity with Grafana
• Experience with Influx
• Exposure to RocksDB
• Experience working in environments with high observability and mature CI/CD pipelines
