The Role

This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract opportunity to cover a period of leave. Flexible working conditions including WFH and remote from other states apply to this position.

The Job
  • With guidance from the Senior QA Engineer and Engineering Manager, develop and maintain complex automation frameworks for web, API, content management and back-end systems.
  • Build a strong understanding of system requirements to help shape the development and implementation of an automation strategy, including script dependencies and constraints.
  • Contribute to the product team's strategy and approach to automation testing and support teams by sharing automation techniques and encouraging consistent practices.
  • Analyse complex software systems and collaborate with stakeholders to improve design, including quality measures and governance reporting to help ensure applications perform according to specifications.
  • Stay up to date with industry developments, and continue building your understanding of system functionality, system requirements, and the broader business strategy.

You're an experienced QA Engineer who enjoys working collaboratively to improve quality, reliability, and confidence in every release.

You'll have:

  • Demonstrated experience testing APIs, web applications and/or content management systems, ideally in a large-scale Java-based environment.
  • Strong hands on experience building test automation, including developing and maintaining automation frameworks and supporting tooling. Experience with frameworks such as Playwright and K6 are desirable.
  • Development experience in at least one language, such as JavaScript or Typescript.
  • Experience working with web applications, REST and GraphQL APIs, and CI/CD tooling in AWS (or a similar cloud environment).
  • Experience testing and troubleshooting backend systems and infrastructure such as databases and AWS cloud services.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and help resolve complex technical issues
  • Clear communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical information to a range of audiences.
