Smoke Ventilation Design Engineer

An established specialist contractor is looking to recruit a Design Engineer to join its growing engineering team. Working on a variety of commercial and residential projects, you'll be responsible for producing coordinated mechanical designs, technical calculations and detailed drawings for smoke ventilation and life safety systems.

You'll work closely with project teams, architects and consultants from concept through to construction, ensuring designs are technically compliant, practical and delivered on time. This role would suit someone with experience in smoke control, HVAC or mechanical building services design who is looking to develop within a specialist life safety sector.

Requirements

• Experience producing mechanical or HVAC designs within building services
• AutoCAD experience (Revit beneficial)
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and construction drawings
• Understanding of building services coordination and design principles
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Knowledge of smoke ventilation, AOVs or life safety systems advantageous but not essential
