Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain cloud-native platform services supporting modern IAM capabilities.
• Deploy, administer and optimise Kubernetes clusters and supporting infrastructure.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions to enable repeatable, automated deployments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and GitOps-based deployment practices.
• Manage cloud networking, connectivity and platform security controls.
• Implement observability solutions, including logging, monitoring, metrics and distributed tracing.
• Automate platform provisioning, configuration management and operational processes.
• Support deployment and operation of identity services and supporting technology platforms.
• Implement secure secrets management and certificate lifecycle automation.
• Configure service mesh technologies and secure service-to-service communications.
• Manage ingress controllers, API gateways and traffic routing solutions.
• Deliver high availability, resilience, backup and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Support workload identity and authentication mechanisms.
• Ensure compliance with security, governance and regulatory requirements.
• Optimise platform performance, scalability and cost efficiency.
• Develop tooling and self-service capabilities that improve engineering productivity.
• Support incident response, troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities.
• Produce and maintain platform standards, documentation and operational runbooks.
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture and security teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement through automation, DevSecOps and platform engineering best practices.

Required Skills & Experience Platform Engineering & Cloud

• Strong Experience designing and operating cloud-native platforms, ideally within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Expertise in Kubernetes administration and container orchestration.
• Hands-on Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of GitOps deployment methodologies.
• Linux administration and systems engineering Experience.
• Experience with cloud networking, load balancing and connectivity services.
• Knowledge of service mesh technologies such as Istio and Envoy.
• Experience implementing observability solutions including logging, monitoring and distributed tracing.
• Scripting and automation expertise using modern tooling and languages.
• Experience applying Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.

Security Engineering

• Strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and secure engineering practices.
• Experience implementing security controls within cloud-native environments.
• Practical understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts and technologies.
• Knowledge of secrets management, privileged access controls and workload identities.
• Understanding of PKI, certificate management and encryption technologies.
• Knowledge of cloud security architecture and security best practices.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust principles and identity-centric security models.
• Experience undertaking threat modelling, security design reviews or abuse-case analysis.
• Ability to identify security vulnerabilities and recommend practical mitigations.
• Understanding of security architecture patterns, segmentation and defence-in-depth strategies.

Operational Excellence

• Experience supporting critical production platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.
• Experience managing platform performance, capacity and reliability.
• Demonstrated commitment to automation and operational efficiency.
• Experience working within regulated or highly governed environments is advantageous.
