VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Consultant

We're partnering with a leading global IT services provider undergoing significant growth across its VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) practice and capability to design, deliver, and modernise enterprise private cloud platforms on VMware Cloud Foundation 9.x.

As a consultant, you'll lead end-to-end engagements, shaping architectures, hands on builds, life cycle automation, and migrations while producing high-quality artefacts.

With a strong pipeline of secured work, this opportunity offers long-term contract stability, exposure to cutting-edge VCF 5.x and VCF 9 environments, and the chance to work on modern hybrid cloud platforms and automation-led infrastructure.
6-month contract
UK-based remote role with some travel to customer sites

Required Skills & Experience
VMware Cloud Foundation 5 skills and experience or above
Deep VCF design/build/operate experience,
Strong NSX (T0/T1, DFW, VRFs, EVPN), vSAN (ESA/OSA)
Automation with Terraform, Ansible, PowerCLI, APIs
Observability with Aria Ops/Ops for Networks/Logs
Migration experience with HCX
Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement
Responsibilities
Lead assessments and define future state VCF 9.x architectures
Produce HLD/LLD, implementation plans, and operational runbooks
Own VCF bring up, SDDC Manager config, life cycle & compliance
Engineer NSX, vSAN, workload domain builds
VCF Operations design, config and analysis
Execute migrations using HCX/vMotion
Automate day 0/1/2 operations with Terraform, Ansible, PowerCLI
Enable modern workloads such as VKS and platform guardrails

Kubernetes on vSphere (VKS)
DR tooling (SRM, VCDR)
VMware Cloud (VMC on AWS, AVS)
Avi load balancing, Aria Suite Lifecycle
Desired Certifications
VCP-Cloud Foundation 9.x
VCAP NV/DCV welcomed
NSX Specialist/VCF Specialist badges
SC/DV clearance beneficial for some projects
