Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-quality Java applications and microservices.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and Back End services.
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, testers, and DevOps engineers.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and architectural decisions.
• Implement automated testing and support a TDD approach.
• Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Develop and deploy applications using cloud-native technologies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
• Ensure solutions meet security, performance, and accessibility requirements.

Essential Skills

• Strong commercial experience with Java (11/17+).
• Extensive experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
• Microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• REST API design and development.
• SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle.
• Automated testing using JUnit and Mockito.
• Git version control.
• Agile/Scrum delivery experience.
• CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.

Desirable Skills

• AWS or other cloud platform experience.
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• Apache Kafka or event-driven architectures.
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience working on government or public sector projects.
• Knowledge of GDS standards and accessibility requirements.
