Full-Stack Software Engineer IV

Role: Full-Stack Software Engineer IV (MuleSoft, API architecture, .NET, and cybersecurity)
Location: Remote
Duration: 6-month contract

Our client is seeking a Senior/Level 4 Software Engineer with strong MuleSoft, API architecture, .NET, and cybersecurity experience. This engineer will support API standardization across multiple teams and applications, with a primary focus on bringing APIs into compliance with established security standards.

Responsibilities

• Support API security standardization across approximately 12 teams.
• Configure and implement MuleSoft proxies.
• Bring APIs into compliance with established cybersecurity standards.
• Address authorization and API security gaps.
• Review existing API configurations and implement required security updates.
• Follow documented API security standards and procedures.
• Document changes and remediation activities.
• Work directly with application teams and participate in daily standups.
• Own assigned API security projects through completion before transitioning to the next team/application.

Required / Key Skills

• Seven (7) years of experience
• Strong software engineering/development background.
• MuleSoft experience - required.
• Strong API architecture and development experience.
• Hands-on experience setting up MuleSoft proxies.
• Experience with REST APIs.
• Understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT validation.
• Experience with API security, authorization, and secure development practices.
• Vulnerability remediation/security compliance experience.
• Ability to understand and implement established API security standards.
• GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jira, and CI/CD experience.

Preferred Skills

• .NET experience.
• Angular and/or React experience.
• Experience with OWASP API Security and CIS Benchmarks.
• Banking/financial services experience.
• Experience in another highly regulated or security-conscious industry.
• Experience with origination or servicing platforms.
• Payment APIs, payment processing, or financial transaction integration experience.
• Vault experience.
• AWS exposure.
