Job description

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Head of HR to join a successful and growing organisation of approximately 500 employees with operations across the UK.

This is a standalone HR leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape and influence the people agenda across the business. Supported by an engaged leadership team, the role is less focused on high-volume employee relations and instead centres on driving employee engagement, culture, communication, talent development, and organisational effectiveness.

This position would suit an HR professional who enjoys building relationships, influencing stakeholders, and creating a positive employee experience while supporting a geographically dispersed workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver the people strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Partner closely with senior leaders across the organisation to provide strategic HR advice and support.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and develop programmes that enhance culture and employee satisfaction.
  • Lead internal communications strategies to ensure employees remain informed, connected, and engaged.
  • Support organisational development, leadership capability, succession planning, and talent management initiatives.
  • Review and enhance HR policies, processes, and best practices.
  • Monitor workforce trends and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Champion employee wellbeing, diversity, inclusion, and employer brand initiatives.
  • Oversee recruitment strategy and support key senior appointments.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and HR best practice.

About You

  • Proven HR leadership experience within a Head of HR, HR Business Partner, or equivalent senior HR role.
  • Strong generalist HR background with experience influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Passion for employee engagement, organisational culture, and communications.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to balance people priorities and business objectives.
  • Comfortable operating autonomously and taking ownership of the full HR agenda.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build credibility across all levels.
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent experience preferred.

What's on Offer?

  • Opportunity to lead and shape the people agenda across a national business.
  • High-profile role with significant visibility and influence.
  • Supportive leadership team and positive organisational culture.
  • Diverse and interesting remit focused on engagement, culture, communication, and organisational development.
  • Glasgow city centre location.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional seeking a broad and influential role where they can make a genuine impact on culture, engagement, and the employee experience across a growing UK-wide organisation.
