Job Description

Our client, a leader in financial services, is seeking a Collections Associate to join their team. As a Collections Associate, you will be part of the Collections Department supporting the finance team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a professional demeanor which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Collections Associate

Location: New York, NY

Pay Range: $25 - $28/hr 

Shift: 8:00AM - 5:00PM, Monday through Friday

What's the Job?

  • Manage and collect outstanding accounts receivables from service customers through phone, email, and mail communications.
  • Monitor accounts daily to identify overdue payments and take appropriate collection actions.
  • Collaborate with the finance team and branch personnel to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain detailed records of collection activities and ensure contact information accuracy.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on collection activities and account statuses.

What's Needed?

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a collections role or a related field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to debt collection.
