Network Engineer

Job Title: Senior Network Engineer (Cisco / Palo Alto)
Duration: 12 Months (Extension Possible)
Location: Blythewood, SC – Fully Onsite
Work Authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Candidate Requirement:
Candidates must currently reside in SC, NC, or GA and be willing to relocate within 40 miles of Blythewood, SC prior to start date.

Role Overview:

Seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support a large enterprise network environment within a Network Operations Center (NOC). This role focuses on Cisco-based infrastructure, Palo Alto security technologies, network troubleshooting, and operational support across statewide enterprise systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls, and network performance monitoring in complex environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure, install, maintain, and upgrade enterprise network infrastructure
• Troubleshoot network failures, routing, switching, and connectivity issues
• Support Cisco firewalls, routers, switches, and VPN technologies
• Administer and support Palo Alto firewalls and XDR solutions
• Monitor network performance and improve infrastructure reliability
• Maintain network documentation and diagrams
• Support secure and compliant network operations
• Collaborate with NOC and infrastructure teams in a fast-paced environment

Required Skills & Experience:

• 10+ years of experience with Cisco firewalls, routers, switches, VPN, and administration
• 5+ years of experience with Palo Alto firewalls
• Strong troubleshooting skills in enterprise network environments
• Experience with routing, switching, and core network architecture

Preferred Skills:

• Wireless networking experience
• Hybrid cloud infrastructure exposure
• Network monitoring and tracing tools
• Voice-integrated infrastructure support

Additional Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel statewide
• Comfortable working onsite in a government agency environment
