Cloud Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to provide engineering, operational, automation, and governance support across enterprise cloud environments. The Cloud Engineer will work closely with Cloud Engineering and Enterprise Architecture teams to provision, manage, secure, monitor, and optimize cloud infrastructure and application environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and operational support for IaaS/PaaS services including compute, storage, networking, security, and databases.
• Support cloud application modernization and migration initiatives.
• Provision and operationalize cloud technologies and automation solutions at scale.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, orchestration, and automated deployment solutions.
• Support cloud IAM, security controls, access management, workflows, and integrations.
• Work with cloud architects and engineering leads to ensure deployments follow enterprise standards.
• Support FinOps initiatives, including cloud cost monitoring, alerts, and optimization.
• Implement and maintain full-stack observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions.
• Administer and support enterprise governance and DevSecOps platforms.
• Develop and enforce cloud governance strategies, guardrails, policy controls, and cost optimization practices.
• Provide technical guidance on cloud technologies, industry trends, and emerging solutions.
• Support cloud application development and modernization across multiple directorates.
• Develop technical documentation, processes, standards, and operational guidance.
• Collaborate with enterprise architecture, engineering, security, and business teams.

Experience Levels

• Junior: 1–2 years of hands-on Cloud Engineering experience.
• Mid-Level: 3–5 years of Cloud Engineering operations and administration.
• Senior: 5+ years of Cloud Engineering operations, management, and governance.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Management Systems, or equivalent technical experience.
• Strong experience with AWS Commercial and AWS GovCloud.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure, security, networking, data management, and cloud technologies.
• Experience with enterprise-level IT projects.
• Experience developing technical documentation, processes, and guidance.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in complex, matrix-managed environments.
