Location: Austin, TX (Onsite)
Client Preference: Ex-A*** candidates are highly preferred.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of hands-on experience implementing, configuring, and supporting Vertex O-Series in enterprise environments.
• Deep functional and technical expertise in Vertex configuration, including Tax Assist rules, jurisdictions, tax rates, exemption certificates, and reporting.
• Experience implementing Vertex in high-volume transaction environments.
• Strong hands-on experience configuring Vertex for both digital services and physical goods taxation.
• Proven experience integrating Vertex with SAP and custom applications.
• Expertise in defining integration standards, including API contracts, payload structures, error handling frameworks, and monitoring strategies.
• Strong engineering background with hands-on experience in API design, data mapping, JSON/XML transformations, and secure integrations.
• Ability to define tax data flows, transaction mapping, and reconciliation controls across upstream and downstream systems.
• Experience participating in architecture reviews and driving engineering best practices.
