Job Description

The ECST Assistant Team Lead supports Marine Corps Corrosion Service Teams (CSTs) by ensuring high‑quality production, compliance with CPAC standards, and effective team coordination. This role maintains strict adherence to Marine Corps Technical Manual 4795‑OR/1A, oversees quality control of ECST operations, and collaborates closely with the ECST Lead, CST Lead, and Field Service Representative to meet reliability, performance, and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • CPAC Compliance — Review and apply Marine Corps Orders, technical manuals, and CPAC policies.
  • Corrosion Assessment — Inspect, validate, and document corrosion category code III, IV, and V equipment.
  • On‑the‑Spot Training — Provide immediate instruction to ensure accurate corrosion classification.
  • Equipment Inspection — Inspect application equipment, identify faults, and ensure proper use.
  • Team Standards — Enforce uniformity and proper wear of employer‑provided clothing.
  • Safety & Environmental Compliance — Ensure adherence to PPE, safety procedures, and environmental regulations.
  • Publication Management — Maintain current technical references and required publications.
  • Documentation & Reporting — Record findings, complete project documentation, and submit reports.
  • Material Management — Maintain MSDS files, conduct monthly and biweekly inventories, and requisition materials.
  • Quality Control — Inspect products, identify defects, perform durability tests, and accept or reject assets.
  • Training Oversight — Manage and track weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual ECST team training.
  • Maintenance Support — Perform occasional routine maintenance on CPAC equipment.
  • Travel — Travel is required to support CPAC operations.
  • Personnel Coordination — Collaborate with ECST and CST Leads to resolve personnel issues.
  • Credential Eligibility — Ability to pass background check for DBIDS credentialing.
  • Leadership — Strong supervisory and leadership capabilities.
  • Analytical Skills — Ability to identify mistakes and implement corrective actions.
  • Communication — Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Technical Proficiency — Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Licensing — Possess a valid state driver’s license.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Physical Activity — Frequent standing and walking; ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
  • Equipment Access — Ability to mount/dismount military equipment for extended periods.
  • Outdoor Conditions — Work in varying weather conditions for long durations.
  • PPE Use — Use employer‑provided PPE including goggles, gloves, and respirators.
  • Visual Accuracy — Maintain precise visual accuracy for inspections.

Education & Experience

    • Baseline Education — High school diploma or equivalent; vocational degree preferred.
    • Military Knowledge — Prefer training from a military school with Marine Corps operations focus.
    • Experience — Minimum 18 months CST experience.
