Lead Firewall Engineer | College Park, MD, United States | On-site | $131,300.00 - $237,350.00 This employer is a globally recognised technology leader known for providing advanced digital and mission innovations to government and commercial clients. They are seeking a highly skilled Lead Firewall Engineer to join their dynamic team and contribute to critical national security initiatives. This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of cybersecurity, ensuring the integrity of vital network infrastructure. The Role • Design, implement, and manage complex firewall solutions using technologies such as Cisco ASA/Firepower, Juniper SRX, and Palo Alto. • Monitor firewall performance and security logs to proactively identify and mitigate potential threats. • Develop and enforce network security policies and procedures to maintain a robust security posture. • Serve as a People Leader, guiding and mentoring a team responsible for firewall operations and projects. • Provide technical expertise and strategic direction for continual service improvement in firewall operations. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate firewall solutions and troubleshoot network issues. What You'll Need • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of directly relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Minimum of 3 years of firewall experience within a DoD environment. • Demonstrated knowledge in managing and leading a firewall team within a similar-sized organization. • Advanced experience with implementing perimeter and internal firewalls, both physical and virtual. • Proven ability to evaluate firewall rules for maximum security and minimum redundancy. • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
