Role: Senior Mainframe Platform & Vendor Management Lead

Location: McLean, VA or Dallas, TX (4-5 days onsite per week)

This is not a traditional hands-on Mainframe Engineering role.

We're looking for a senior professional who can provide technical oversight, governance, and vendor management for the mainframe platform while partnering closely with a managed service provider that handles day-to-day operations.

Job Description:

Ideal candidates should have experience with:

Mainframe Infrastructure (z/OS, IMS, DB2, RACF)

Vendor Management & Service Delivery Oversight

SLA Governance & Performance Management

Infrastructure Change Reviews & Risk Management

Security, Compliance & Audit Support

Production Incident Management & Root Cause Analysis

Stakeholder Communication & Cross-Functional Coordination

Strong mainframe knowledge is required, but the primary focus is leading, governing, reviewing, and holding vendors accountable rather than performing day-to-day engineering work. Need to have strong blend of mainframe platform expertise, vendor management experience, and strong communication skills.
