Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce has a client in need of a Senior Software Engineer in Philadelphia, PA.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support scalable backend services, APIs, integrations, and workflow solutions for enterprise applications
  • Build business logic, service orchestration, and event-driven components to support complex business processes
  • Develop and maintain integrations with internal platforms, external systems, data sources, and AI-enabled solutions
  • Create and execute automated testing strategies, including unit, integration, regression, and performance testing
  • Contribute to architecture standards, reusable frameworks, deployment automation, and engineering best practices
  • Monitor application health, troubleshoot production issues, and drive continuous service improvements
  • Partner with product, business, and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable technical solutions
  • Implement and support modern cloud-based development, deployment, and operational processes
  • Design and maintain semantic data structures, knowledge models, and relationship mappings that improve information discovery and automation
  • Develop AI-enabled capabilities, retrieval solutions, intelligent workflows, and reusable components that enhance business operations
  • Participate in code reviews, technical planning, and quality assurance activities to ensure reliable software delivery
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on scalability, performance, security, and maintainability

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Experience developing enterprise applications using Java, Python, .NET, Node.js, TypeScript, or similar technologies
  • Strong understanding of API development, microservices, distributed systems, and service-oriented architecture principles
  • Experience building applications in cloud environments and working with containerization and automated deployment tools
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices, infrastructure automation, configuration management, and application monitoring
  • Experience creating automated tests and implementing quality-focused development practices
  • Familiarity with performance optimization, system observability, production support, and incident resolution
  • Experience working with AI-driven development tools and integrating AI capabilities into business applications
  • Knowledge of generative AI concepts, large language model applications, prompt design, agent workflows, or retrieval-based architectures
  • Familiarity with semantic modeling, metadata management, taxonomy development, knowledge graphs, or related data organization concepts
  • Experience with vector databases, search technologies, data integration, and information retrieval solutions is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving, collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced Agile environments and deliver high-quality solutions across multiple initiatives

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
