Senior Security Engineer

Senior Security Engineer Hybrid (2 days onsite - London) / 12-month contract / Up to £700 PD (Inside IR35) / SC Cleared Role Overview:<br />A prestigious public sector organisation is hiring two Senior Security Engineers with experience implementing Palo Alto Networks XSIAM within an enterprise highly secure government owner corporation. This is paying up to £700 PD Inside IR 35 to be based in London 2 x PW with some flex longer term. You must have active SC clearance. You will play a key role in implementing, configuring, and managing Palo Alto Networks XSIAM to improve threat detection, incident response, security monitoring, and operational resilience. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior security professional to support a major cyber security initiative, improving automation, security analytics, and compliance with evolving Government security standards, including the Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF) and Minimum Cyber Security Standard.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and manage Palo Alto Networks XSIAM security platform<br />Configure security policies, rules, and monitoring capabilities<br />Improve threat detection, response, and security automation<br />Investigate security alerts and support incident response activities<br />Integrate security tools and enhance operational workflows<br />Provide technical guidance to security and IT teams<br />Produce security reporting and support continuous improvementEssential: Strong experience within Security Operations / SOC environments<br />Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks XSIAM or similar security platforms<br />Strong knowledge of threat detection, monitoring, and incident response<br />Experience with security tooling integration and automation<br />Ability to analyse security incidents and identify threats<br />Experience working in complex or regulated environments<br />Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills<br />Active SC Clearance requiredTop 3 Evaluation Criteria: Palo Alto Networks XSIAM / security platform implementation experience<br />Security operations, threat detection, and incident response expertise<br />Experience working within complex security environments and collaborating with stakeholdersInterview Process: 1 stage process on Teams
