Job Title: Senior AI Product Owner

Location: Philadelphia, PA or Hartford, CT

Duration: Long Term Contract

Summary: Responsible for driving the development and delivery of AI-powered products using the SAFe Agile framework.

The role requires a hands-on Product Owner who can bridge business needs and technology, ensure delivery of high-value solutions while working closely with Agile teams in a SAFe framework environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Ownership & Delivery

Own and manage the Team Backlog, ensuring alignment with business priorities and program objectives

Translate business requirements into user stories with clear acceptance criteria

Prioritize backlog using value-driven approaches (e.g., WSJF)

Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring solutions deliver measurable business outcomes

Participate actively in PI Planning, Iteration Planning, and Team Demos

• SAFe Agile Execution

Work within SAFe Agile Release Train (ART) structure

Collaborate with Product Managers, System Architects, and Business Owners

Contribute to Program Backlog refinement and PI objectives definition

Support PI execution, inspect & adapt workshops, and continuous improvement activities

• GenAI Product Development

Define and drive use cases leveraging Generative AI technologies

Work with data science and engineering teams to operationalize AI models into production solutions

Ensure responsible AI practices (ethics, bias mitigation, compliance)

Continuously evaluate AI solution performance and business impact

• Stakeholder Management

Collaborate with business stakeholders

Facilitate requirement workshops, backlog grooming sessions, and sprint reviews

Manage expectations and ensure transparent communication on delivery progress

• Continuous Improvement

Drive feedback loops from users and stakeholders

Monitor KPIs and product success metrics

Promote a culture of innovation and continuous learning

• Required Qualifications & Skills

✅ Must-Have

Overall 15+ years of experience and 8-10+ years in Product Owner

Strong hands-on experience in SAFe Agile framework

Demonstrated experience with core Product Owner responsibilities:

Backlog management

Story writing and refinement

Sprint planning and execution support

PI Planning

• Experience delivering digital or data-driven products

✅ Preferred

Exposure to Generative AI / AI-driven solutions. Must have built a product from scratch.

Experience in Group Benefits / Insurance domain

✅ Familiarity with:

AI/ML lifecycle

APIs and microservices architecture

Agile tools like JIRA, Confluence and also AWS and DevOps

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Excellent stakeholder communication skills

Ability to balance business priorities and technical constraints

Customer-focused mindset with value-driven thinking

• Certifications (Preferred)

SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM)

Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)

Any AI/GenAI-related certifications are a plus
